Gunblr Game: CASCADIA
Tumblr media
[Disclaimer for anyone new here: These are strictly fictional entertainment exercises within hypothetical scenarios. None of this is meant to be taken too seriously, or as a threat, or any sort of political stance. Just interactive fiction. I am not responsible for anyone else's actions or statements.]
Background: An unprecedented event has occurred in which both the San Andreas Fault Line and Cascadian Subduction Zone shift, triggering massive earthquakes, just minutes apart, leaving the West Coast devastated. The Cascadian quake occurs offshore at a magnitude of 9.5, causing massive tsunamis to pummel the coastline of the entire PNW and reduce the cities of Portland and Seattle to rubble. Vancouver, B.C. fairs a big better but is still heavily damaged. The bulk of the San Andreas quake is along the southern half of the fault line at a magnitude of 8.2 and significantly impacts every major city in the southern half of the state. In the aftermath, fires have ravaged what's left of the cities and further raised the death tolls and number of homeless.
Failed Response: Predictably, the US government prioritized California in relief efforts declaring the central and southern areas as the California Disaster Zone and declaring the northern most section of the state up to the Canadian border the Cascadia Disaster Zone. The region is enraged at their abandonment, while similar outrage occurs in Canada at the minimal relief efforts there. This leads to a power crisis and a huge autonomous zone that more or less runs from the NorCal Redwoods to Vancouver B.C..
This is not a secession, as the federal powers are completely indifferent and leaving the region their its fate, focusing on the wealth and voter power bases to the south.
Current Situation: It has now been several months, and within the PNW, various factions operate is loose collaboration due to necessity. At least one faction has sided with Chinese interests, whose personnel are on the West Coast under the guise of relief efforts. Refugee camps are all over the place as many flee the Portland and Seattle regions on foot. The majority of the factions are just people protecting what's left of their communities, bolstered by volunteers, many of whom originally arrived to assist in S.A.R. and rebuilding efforts. With interstates destroyed or operating at very limited capacity, many supplies are trucked in via smaller roads.
Tumblr media
The Game:
You are a volunteer inside the Cascadia Disaster Zone, specifically a small town with an influx from neighboring towns : What would you arm yourself with from the mix of what's left in stores, personal collections, police stations, guard armories, and the massive cross section of weapons and gear brought in through sympathic American and Canadian supply lines? Aside from your personal security patrol gear, is there a role or setup you would insist be included among teams?
Threats - Chinese backed collaborator militia with PLA "advisors", supported by FPV drones and robotic dog scouts. Groups of armed looters attempting to take what they can as they escape the region. Random opportunistic criminals operating in the lawless environment.
Roles - Static security in towns and camps, patrols/sweeps of local area, S.A.R. should community members go missing, maintaining supply routes, and manning lookouts watching for threats, be they human, animal, or environmental related.
These security roles are supplemental to survival/relief efforts. You are there to help, not invade.
That's the premise for this one, folks. Almost the whole of the American and Canadian outdoor and shooting industries is on the table for gear. Assume a large, if poorly managed, stream of private aid is coming in, and lots of volunteers have technical knowledge. Feel free to get creative. Be as detailed as you like with your equipment choices.

Years ago, when I first joined tumblr, I posted some gun control posts and immediately my posts were brigaded by the gunblr community. But at the time, I didn’t know what gunblr even was, so for a period of time I just thought that my opinion was unpopular and in the minority. But once I learned what gunblr was (gun nuts who value guns above all else), it helped me gain a broader understanding and know that I was not alone nor in the minority in my opinions on gun control. That all said to say this: I absolutely agree with your point about using the word Zionist sparingly, lest you might be mistaken for a white nationalist … BUT … I worry that if we do not openly discuss *what* Zionism is, people will be misled into believing that anti-Zionism is the same as antisemitism, when it is not. I try not to overly use the word for the reasons you mentioned, but it is not a slur or a bad word. It’s a descriptive adjective. We HAVE to be able to honestly name things so that people aren’t ignorant and easily manipulated. That conversation *should* always be informed by Jewish scholars (and others!) who are knowledgeable and best understand Zionism, but I don’t believe that that discussion should be reserved ONLY for learned scholars. Whew. It’s definitely a tough topic to easily broach. No harm or disrespect intended. I value your opinion.
I absolutely agree that Zionism should be open to discussion. I think I even clarified that in that post
unfortunately, I do think Zionist has become a slur. this is to say nothing of Zionism one way or another, but it's become so dissassociated from its actual meaning (like how people will say "oh faggot isn't a slur, it means a bundle of sticks!". like, no, not the way people use it it doesn't).
When goyim call someone a Zionist, they're not saying "this person believes in Zionism (/ˈzaɪənɪzəm/; Hebrew: צִיּוֹנוּת Ṣīyyonūt, Hebrew pronunciation: [t͡sijo̞ˈnut]; derived from Zion) is a nationalist[fn 1] movement that emerged in the 19th century to enable the establishment of a homeland for the Jewish people in Palestine,[3][4][5][6] a region roughly corresponding to the Land of Israel in Jewish tradition." People who absolutely don't associate with Zionism (like myself) get called Zionists for talking about antisemitism, or Hamas' war crimes. No consideration is given for what the person actually believes (similar to how people will call Elon Musk a TERF despite him not being a feminist, let alone a radical one)
This is anecdotal, but I was once hanging out with a woman who, apropos of nothing, asked "Hey, are you a Zionist?", solely becuase she knew I'm Jewish. I had to hurriedly explain to her that while I supported the right of Jewish people to live in Israel, I didn't support the Israeli government or the IDF. (That situation reminded me a lot of when I was working at a pizza place and this old lady standing at the counter waiting for her order asked if I was "antifa" because I had blue hair)
political labels can be useful shorthand, but they should not replace nuanced discussion

As someone who unapologetically likes firearms I hate the communities surrounding them so much. I didn't know Gunblr even existed until today but it only took me like like 2 minutes to hate it. I just want to talk about my neat lil 2mm pinfire keychain gun, not Hunter Biden.

You can’t post anything positive anymore. Everything has to be negative or hated on for some reason or another. There can’t be support or constructive criticism, it needs to be met with hostility and why “YOU’RE doing it wrong”
Even though we’re all posting to the same website from our traceable phones and computers.
This is why “Gunblr” died as a community.
More of my friends are talking about us needing homes on connected land at every gathering. I'm not even the one to bring it up anymore, they are all thinking it on their own. Several of them are already working on large gardens and want chickens. All of them bulk purchase canned and dry goods for emergency preparedness. Several are experimenting with CB and HAM. They are all people that have proven you can call them for help at 3am, and they will answer.
I'm working on my pitch for a plan to make this happen.

I almost forgot! Just like I’ve seen people delete very good posts about common sense gun control(and sometimes even delete their blogs!) after the gunblr community ganged up on them, Im now seeing people get brigaded by (here’s that word) Zionists, and I’m worried the same thing will happen to people making perfectly reasonable arguments against what’s happening in Gaza.
yeah, there are shithead Zionists. there are idiots in every movement. I don't think those people should be shielded from criticism, and I'm definitely open to hearing arguments for how the Zionist movement can enable people to be racist shitheads. I don't support anyone being ganged up on
I just think decrying anyone who doesn't fall in lockstep with everything the Free Palestine movement has decided is acceptable as a "Zionist" or "Zio" or "Zionazi" is really helping anyone, especially not the people in Gaza. You should be able to criticize the methods and rhetoric of any social movement without being afraid of having everyone turn on you for it

(Polish soldiers during the Polish-Bolshevik war)
The Battle of Warsaw 1920. The Defeat of the Empire of Evil
The Battle of Warsaw in 1920 was not only a culminating moment of the Polish-Bolshevik war but also one of the decisive events in the history of Europe and the world.
Led by Vladimir Lenin, once they seized power in Russia, the Bolsheviks strove to export the revolution to Europe. Their march to the West began in late 1918. The Communist International (Comintern) was founded in Moscow in March 1919 as a body to supervise communist parties from 32 countries across the globe, and a political tool of the Bolshevik Russia. In the summer of 1919, the Comintern’s Chairman Grigory Zinoviev stated: “One can say with full confidence: In just a year from now, all of Europe will be communist. And the struggle for communism will move to America, and perhaps to Asia and other parts of the world.” The Polish-Bolshevik war began in January 1919. The Commander of the Western Front Mikhail N. Tukhachevsky issued an order to his soldiers, addressing them with the words: “Fighters of the workers’ revolution! Fix your eyes on the West. It is in the West that the fate of the world revolution is being decided. Over the dead body of White Poland lies the way to the world fire of revolution.”
In the face of the deadly threat, the Polish nation got immensely mobilized, the Catholic Church also playing a big role in it. More than 100,000 volunteers responded to calls to join the army, including 30,000 citizens of Warsaw. Meanwhile, the Polish government sought help abroad. British prime minister David Lloyd George, however, offered only mediation in peace talks with the Bolsheviks. France behaved somewhat better as it offered substantial supplies of weapons and munitions. Pope Benedict XV realized how grave the situation was when he noted in a letter of August 5: “It is not only Poland’s existence as a nation that is imperiled, but the entire Europe faces the atrocities of a new war.” As part of its massive propaganda efforts under the slogan “Hands off the Soviet Russia,” Moscow had mobilized communist parties and leftist trade unions in all of Europe to act against Poland. Railway workers in Germany and Czechoslovakia blocked trains with military supplies to Poland. The governments of both countries silently sympathized with the Bolsheviks. The only safe passage for the transports led through Romania.
"We have the whole world against us" wrote Stanisław Posner in a report for Józef Piłsudski, submitted end of June 1920, after traveling through Western European countries. During his several-week expedition, he visited a few capital cities and returned with observations free of any hope. Posner highlighted that even those who had been siding with Poland, such as French President Alexandre Millerand, assuring of his support for Warsaw in the conflict with the Czechs ,"is siding with them and, in other matters, will always submit to the opinion of England, because he depends on her as a creditor." "The British Prime Minister Lloyd George played a sombre role in Spa, a provincial lawyer from Wales, promoted in world opinion to a national leader, prejudiced against Poles and clearly siding with the Bolsheviks" – said Mieczysław Jałowiecki, the representative of the Polish government in Gdańsk. In late summer of 1920, war correspondent Adam Grzymała-Siedlecki noted: "It was of no secret to anybody that the Germans are waiting impatiently to conquer Warsaw. […] Our surrounding neighbors were already preparing new partitions. The end of Polish statehood was spoken of as an absolute necessity. Was the situation presented differently at the offices of the Triple Entente? English policy, Italian neutrality, the stance of the Belgian cabinet regarding the transport of weaponry to Poland, all made it clearer than ever that helping us would be impractical and – who knows? – even harmful."
The Battle of Warsaw took place from August 12 to 15, 1920. The fiercest combats were fought for Radzymin, Ossów and Zielonka. Radzymin was reclaimed from the Poles by the Bolsheviks on August 13, yet a day later it was under Polish control again, after the rally of General Józef Haller and his chief of staff, Colonel Włodzimierz Zagórski, to be conquered by the Bolsheviks once more the next day. On August 15, it is once again taken back by Haller and Zagórski, both of whom personally led Polish troops to the attack. On the northern front, the 8th cavalry brigade of Colonel Włodzimierz Podhorski from the 5th Army of General Władysław Sikorski in a bold rally entered Ciechanów, where the command center of the 4th Red Army was completely destroyed. On August 16, 1920, the Polish offensive, led by the head of state – Józef Piłsudski, was launched from Wieprz river and eradicated the Mozyr group of the Bolshevik army. Budyonny’s cavalry army also began to retreat to Volhynia, as did the Gaj-Chan’s cavalry corps. The retreat of the Bolsheviks turned into a panic escape. The most significant role in this battle was played by the 5th Army of General Władysław Sikorski on the section of Nasielsk on Wkra river and General Franciszek Latnik on the outskirts of Warsaw. The Bolsheviks were beaten again in the Battle of the Niemen River from September 20 to 26, 1920. The Battle of Warsaw took place near Warsaw and Modlin in addition to the area of Góra Kalwaria as well as between Modlin and Ciechanów. The sides of the battle included the 1st Polish Army (directly defending Warsaw) and the 5th Polish Army (in the area of Modlin) as well as the 3rd, 15th and 16th Bolshevik Armies. It was carried out on the basis of the operational order of August 10, 1920 marked with a fictitious number 10000, signed on August 9 by General Tadeusz Rozwadowski, who provided for a double wing maneuver, so-called “Cannae” maneuver. It is worth adding that it was also vital for the course of the battle that on August 13, Polish cryptologists deciphered the Bolshevik telegram, which indicated that the attack on Warsaw was planned shortly.
The Battle of Warsaw marked the first defeat of the Soviet empire of evil, thanks to which the fate of the world took a different course than Lenin would have wanted. Soon after the defeat near Warsaw, he admitted: “The Polish war was the most crucial turning point not only for the politics of Soviet Russia but also for the world politics. (…) In Europe, it was possible to seize everything. But Piłsudski and his Poles inflicted a gigantic, unprecedented defeat to the cause of the world revolution.”
